Countdown to 'Here we go to Tokyo' Olympics!

Ashton Park host ‘Here we go to Tokyo’ KS 1 Dance Fest

One of the highlights of our Ashton Park SSP calendar is the KS1 Dance Fests. Every year it gets bigger and better with more and more children getting involved and performing. This year 1600 year 1 and year 2 children will take to the stage at different venues to perform their dances which they have been practising in curriculum time.

This week Ashton Park have welcomed 700 children through our gates over 3 Dance Fests to celebrate the upcoming Olympic Games. Excited children from Ashton Gate, SMR, Holy Cross, Knowle Park, Birdwell, Connaught, Victoria Park and Headley Park joined our schools from the Gatehouse Green Learning Trust to take to the stage to entertain us. The standard was incredible, reflecting the hard work put in by teachers and pupils during their lessons.  We were treated to some very colourful costumes and props to accompany the following themes: Opening and Closing Ceremony, Mount Fuji, Origami and Fans, Olympic sports and waving flags.

We now can’t wait for the Olympic Games to begin in Tokyo in the Summer!
