Marked Improvement in Standard of Tag Rugby!

The Central Venue Tag Rugby League came to an fine end yesterday with a great display of Tag rugby on show and some very closely fought games.

After finishing off the last few league matches teams were grouped in playoffs according to their league poisitions and everyone watching was treated to tag rugby and sportsmanship at it's best.

The standard has notably improved over the sessions and it has been really fantastic to see teams making progress as well as enjoying the game.

Great support from parents and as ever we are indebted to Broadplain RFC who have hosted the League again this year. Thanks go in particular to Nick, Marcel and Mark along with the lovely tea and coffee ladies. The guys mark out the pitches, referee and have encouraged and coached the children throughout, and always with a smile on their faces!!

Thanks to Dave Hilton and Simon Weaver from the RFU development team who have also supported the league.

I have to also mention Charlie Hall, from Bedminster Down School year 10. Charlie has reffed throughout the league and has been outstanding in every way and a great role model for the children. He turned up for every session and refereed with real competence and great maturity. He'll go far with that attitide, 'Well Done Charlie!!'

Old rivals Headley Park and Ashton Vale qualified for the final and after a very close game, Headley Park came out as eventual winners, with St Bernadettes coming third ahead of St Patricks.

Well done to everyone involved!
