Primary X- Country bigger then ever!!

Bristol Schools Primary Cross Country Championships

Over 450 young runners from 25 across Bristol turned up to compete in this event held at Ashton Park School on 16th October. The event also saw a record number of parents supporting.

Cherry Kraus from the Ashton Park School Sport Partnership who organized the event said, “The main winner in all this is undoubtedly the future of schools athletics. It has been fantastic to see so many Yr 3-6 pupils excitedly warming up in preparation for their races either keen to win or just keen to finish the course and prove their fitness. What a fantastic turnout. All credit to the teachers who gave up their time to organize and accompany the children.”

Keith Brackstone from Bristol & West Athletics Club helped set the course, keen to encourage youngsters to take up club athletics.

40 of the top runners will represent Bristol in the Primary X Country event at the “Run Bristol’ Event on 27th October at Ashton Court.
