This is the official summer athletics format for primary school children from England Athletics.
FORMAT
Age Group Year 5/6
Gender Mixed Competition
Team Size Team of 8 (4 boys/4 girls)
4 events (5 with optional relays)
§ 75m sprint
§ 600m run
§ ‘Vortex Howler’ throw
§ Standing Long Jump
§ Team relays - 50m (optional)
All competitors take part in all 4 events plus the relay. Points are scored on all events for all competitors, which count towards the schools overall team result.
Schools can enter more than one team.
QUALIFICATION
The top 2 teams from the event will qualify for the Wesport County Final on 14th July 2010.
