'Barnaby Bear makes six 'round the world' trips in KS 1 Dance Fest!

In February and March 1500 pupils from KS 1 were welcomed at 4 different schools to host the KS 1 annual Dance Fest: Ashton Park, St Bernadette, Bedminster Down and Merchants Academy. We had more schools and pupils performing than ever before and it is so heartening to see the standard of dance improve year by year thanks to all the hard work and enthusiasm of the teachers.

The excited pupils showcased the dances they have been working on during their curriculum time. Audiences were wowed with fantastic performances of Welsh, African, Hawaiian, Spanish, Cowboy, Indian, Penguin, Egyptian and Carnival Dance where the children were dressed in an array of colourful costumes.

Even the adults joined in enthusiastically with the mass warm up and Welsh dancing. We had some very mature and confident  dance leaders assisting with meeting and greeting and leading the warm up. They fondly remembered when they too performed in the Dance Fest when they were that age.

I wonder what the theme will be next year!

In the meantime 'carry on dancing!': ready for our Dance Fest at Ashton Park School on Tuesday 20th and Wednesday 21st June
