An unprecedented number of runners turned up to compete in the event held at Ashton Park School on 19th October. In fact not only just pupils but record numbers of supportive parents, so much so it caused gridlock around the school in terms of parking!
The winner in all this is undoubtedly the future of schools athletics. It was fantastic to see over 360 Yr 3-6 pupils excitedly warming up in preparation for their races either keen to win or just keen to finish the course and prove their fitness.
Bristol & West Athletics Club helped set the course, which went into Ashton Court Estate, keen to encourage youngsters to take up club athletics.
30 of the top runners will represent Bristol in the Primary X Country event at the Mike Sulley Event on 13th November at Ashton Court.
A big 'WELL DONE' to everyone who competed!
