Compass Point Primary point football in the right direction!

Compass Point Primary Link teacher Mark Inskip pulled out all the stops to deliver a fantastic boys football festival on the 7th of July.

Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 teams were invited to play and all teams were treated to 'Mathletics' up in the school ICT suite.

The event was divided into age groups with the highest achieving year 3/4 team St Patricks Primary beating off close competition from the likes of Parson Street.

The 5/6 competition was a very close affair and after some gruelling group matches and semi finals St Bernadette and Cheddar Grove Primary Schools took their place in the cup final. The aim of the day was to promote positive competition and sportsmanship in football which was certainly highlighted during the final which resulted in a Cheddar Grove victory.

The day was a complete success due to the support from Williams preservation, Turners Farm shop Mathletics and Ashton Park SSP who sponsored the trophies and activities that ran through out the day. The hope is that this will be the stepping stones to bigger things within the Ashton Park Partnership in the years to come.
